Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre is an Autonomous Inter-University Centre (IUC) of University Grants Commission (UGC) involved in creating infrastructure for sharing of library and information resources and services among Academic and Research Institutions. INFLIBNET works collaboratively with Indian university libraries to shape the future of the academic libraries in the evolving information environment. The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre. The authorized users from colleges can now access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publishers website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre.
N-LIST stands for "National Library and Information services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content". The programme is funded by the MHRD to extend access to selected E-resources to colleges covered under 2F/12B Act of UGC.

Through the National Library and Information Services infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST) programme of the INFLIBNET centre the Vimala College library provides access to more than 6000 E-journals and more than 97000 E-books.
Greenstone Digital Library Software is a suite of software for building and distributing digital library collections. It provides a new way of organizing and publishing information on the Internet or on CD-Rom. It is Open Access Software.
This Scan/read system combine software and a flatbed scanner to read aloud any printed text. Textbook pages, class handouts, and tests can be scanned in and then read aloud by a computer.
At the outset after the admission the librarian meets all new- comers to make them aware of the rules and regulations of the library. All the students are given user orientation and computer literacy during the free hours & library hours Main wise. This helps them to be familiar with the functioning of the library, cataloguing, arrangement of books and journals, keyword index and classification of books. Students have direct access to the books of their respective disciplines.
Acquisition of latest books and subscription to discipline- based journals and magazines are carefully implemented. New Entries are displayed at the entrance and a spacious reading room provides the right ambience for silent and quiet reading.
